Yeah I listened to it all too Oaktree, that Edwin Lyman is a Luddite, he doesn't want HALEU and he doesn't want them to use Plutonium either, even if it still has the Uranium component and all the bad stuff mixed mixed in, no one in their right mind would try to steal it, but without those things SMR's would be dead in the water for the US, but it won't stop China or Russia setting the trends, he is just anti nuclear.
These new concepts for Gen IV reactors will help the US get rid of nuclear waste, and if the US get to control of the SMR build which is the best technology, they will also put a lid on China's and Russia's aspiration, they would both have to comply with what the US was doing IMHO?
This is one area that the US could be great again, they need to stop people like Lyman spreading BS.
