Yes kurrajong is correct I heard a guy from AEC talking on radio yesterday saying there were provisions in the law to except a 1 above the line as a valid vote otherwise there would be to many invalid votes cast. The only thing is your vote stops at that party.
Its going to be hard for the experts to predict were the preferences will flow this election as nobody knows were the flow will stop.
