***** the American ideal of freedom is what you describe pinot..... full anarchy with each having the right to tread on those below them; no rules to ensure peace and stability in the economy means the erosion of freedoms, as when anarchic freedom causes harms to others govts must perforce respond by limiting freedoms.
in Aus we only get freedom when we have enough money to spend. if no money we get stuck in a hole; in a drudgery of labour that locks us into a cultural trap of limitations. this was why Whitlam made university education free..... so that the locked in labourer (as I was in 84) would be able to achieve an education that would open doors to real opportunities for personal growth and rising income.
