I disagree. No need for Nauru, PNG , Malaysia or Timor.
The answer is simple. Just declare that in future, without exception, all unauthorised arrivals will be held indefinitely on Christmas Island until their return home. No migration route, problem solved overnight.
The first part of solving this problem is to own it and accept that we are the problem.
