| Trade unions convey aspirations for alleged unilateral termination of employment |
WAJO, INFOCHANELNASIONAL.COM--The Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) of Wajo Regency accepted the aspirations of the Mining and Energy Federation of the Confederation of All Indonesian Labor Unions (FPE KSBI) regarding the expiration of the PPA Contract, PT.Energi Sengkang with PT.PLN.Wednesday, 05/10/2022
The aspiration was accepted by H. Zenurdin Husaini from Commission I and Mustari from Commission IV.
The chairman of the DPC FPE KSBI Wajo Regency, Kadir Nongko said that it was not permissible for the company to carry out mass layoffs or anything else without the workers' approval, he said.
"Through this forum, we ask the Wajo Regency DPRD to seriously handle so as not to arbitrarily dismiss workers by the management of PT.Energi Sengkang. what's more, this is a permanent worker unless at his own request, he retires and there is a decision of the Constitutional Court that regulates unless the company is permanently closed," said Kadir Nongko
Kadir Ningko also requested that next week's RDP be done as soon as possible and summon all relevant parties including the Manpower Office, Kesabangpol, PT.Energi Sengkang, he hoped.
A member of the Wajo Regency DPRD, Mustari said that he would immediately follow up on the aspirations of Commission IV by holding an RDP by inviting PT.Energi Sengkang.
Before closing H.Zenurdin Husaini also said that it was true that there was a procedure if you wanted to lay off workers, let alone permanent non-contract workers.
"It is true that it is not permissible to terminate permanent workers, there must be procedures, including workers entering retirement age or asking themselves to quit and the company to permanently close and our decision today will be followed up in the RDP next week," he concluded (Muhlis)
