    Intec Subsidiaries
Hi Dave. I noticed that Intec has appointed a full-time Financial Controller in a position requiring the wearing of many hats. Besides being Financial Controller he is also secretary for five subsidiaries. The subsidiaries cover Intec Copper, Hellyer Metals, Intec Zeehan Residues, Intec International Projects (sounds exciting), and definitely a new one, Intec Exploration.

What is the purpose of the subsidiaries and how do they fit into the scheme of future plans?
    RE: Intec Subsidiaries
Response from Dave Sammut, Intec Ltd

Hi Mango. Our investors are probably already reasonably familiar with some of our subsidiaries.

Intec Copper Pty Ltd was originally established during the 1990's as the vehicle for the development and commercialisation of the Intec Copper Process by Intec Pty Ltd (as it then was), together with a syndicate of mining companies and the Federal Government. It has since become wholly-owned by Intec Ltd and is carrying some tax losses that will be utilised during future Intec Group projects.

Intec Hellyer Metals Pty Ltd is also a wholly-owned subsidiary that is the 50% joint venture partner with Polymetals in the Hellyer Zinc Concentrate Project and also owns all of Intec?s Tasmanian assets, including all of the fixed assets at Hellyer and the Burnie Demonstration Plant. Mr Brian Banister recently joined the Intec Group as Managing Director of this subsidiary (and also as Chief Operating Officer of the Intec Group). The only other Tasmanian asset, the 460,000 tonne stockpile of former lead smelter residues near Zeehan, is owned by Intec Zeehan Residues Pty Ltd, which in turn is wholly-owned by Intec Hellyer Metals Pty Ltd.

Intec International Projects Pty Ltd was established in 2007 as a vehicle for the development of overseas opportunities. It is wholly-owned by Intec Ltd and jointly operated by Intec and a London-based corporate financier with excellent international connections, under which we are together currently developing opportunities in minerals-rich and technology-hungry Iran. We will be making a more specific ASX announcement about this 'when the ink has dried'.

Finally, Intec Exploration Pty Ltd was recently established as an exploration vehicle 50/50 co-owned and co-operated by Intec Ltd and RobertsConsulting Pty Ltd, whose principal Heath Roberts is a qualified solicitor, successful mining entrepreneur and currently the Executive Director and Company Secretary of Western Plains Resources Ltd. Heath is well known and respected by Intec, as our former Assistant Company Secretary and inhouse legal consultant. He has an expert understanding and extensive experience of the legal framework of mining and exploration tenements, backed by pragmatic geological insights.

Intec Exploration has acquired and applied for a number of mineralogically prospective exploration tenements immediately adjacent to and surrounding the Young Nickel Laterite Project of Jervois Mining Ltd and the currently operating magnesite mine of The Young Mining Company Limited (owned by the Orind Group in India). Intec Exploration considers that its tenements in this region are both prospective and strategic in nature and is being granted an Intec Process licence in relation to ores discovered within its tenements. This will be the subject of a more detailed ASX announcement shortly.
