Perhaps. But up until recently, they WERE entertaining offers on selling (JVing) a half share. So at least at a certain price, HGO have already shown their willingness to divest half of K.
Perhaps things have changed now - copper prices are higher, credit is freer..etc, and so they CAN going it alone on K. Become a producer (and get rerated accordingly), be cashflow positive...etc
But you can see how HGO appears to be half-hearted about K? First they try to sell half of it (pre-further drilling), and then call it their second priority, behind greenfields exploration!
Surely when you spend most of your cash on a project, that project should be promoted as your flagship project?
