    LOL the feds couldn't even manage quarantine and vaccines and you want to give them absoluute power over the country.
    The net result would be disastrous for the lower population States who would be ignored from revenue perspectives.

    I would also bet that if the States were abolished and the Labor govt won in the Feds you will
    probably change your right wing tune on Federalism. Canberra by its very nature cannot properly meet the localised needs of
    our peoples across the country. Sure we need uniformity in various areas but that needs to come from co-operative decisions amongst
    the States. The Commonwealth can only apply a helping hand and has more than enough dealing with its specific responsibilities
    such as defence and taxation and which they tend to do exremely poorly.

    In any event I am agreat believer in diversification of power because too much power in one body leads to tyranny and corruption
