    For info I used to do a lot of covered calls (sell a call whilst owning the share)in early 2000's. Was seeking to get an extra few % return on a reasonable sized portfolio of shares I was holding LT; back then the figures were 3-5% return from writing calls. Remembering that is "risk free" eg worst outcome is that you sell the share for a price (presumably) you are happy to accept.

    I think I stopped when I got stopped on (maybe AMC??) when some sort of deal made it spike about $1.50 on opening and I picked up my lousy 20c or so for the Call. eg you can "lose" a couple of years of call writing in a single price move. All about risk and reward I guess.

    Anyway, this thread has not got enough charts for my liking so I intend to post a chart next!
