There's a name for it, and it's recognised by HC - baiting and flaming.
Check the Politics forum sometime, and you'll get what I mean. It's one continuous downramp for one political party or another, with plenty of personal attacks.
These people enjoy upsetting others, get some sort of thrill out of it. Damn It! Sometimes I even do it myself, but only on non-stock forums, and only after being provoked.
