The first right wing state to go it alone and be successful will most likely cause the welfare states across America to crumble
When competent, working people can see how they can get the welfare basket cases off their backs, sucking the life out of them, everyone will want some of that and migrations will start to occur in both ways. The left to go get more free stuff elsewhere and the right to pay less tax and have a smaller less intrusive government.
The rest of the country will be left in smoking ruins, because the surplus lefties will gravitate to the remaining welfare states and tip the balance so far to the left they will collapse financially. This will happen because all western regions/states are teetering on the edge of financial collapse already.
