Yes... an excellent summary indeed.
And with a total population of only half a million, individual people still matter down there and can still make a difference.
I would also move down there in a flash, except for:
(i) the cold (but maybe I'd get used to that, especially if I could come north occasionally to thaw out);
(ii) having just bought a house and land, and moved to an island with the intention of becoming as self-sufficient as possible,
I owe it to myself and to my wife to make good on that intention before coveting the greener grass on the southern side of the fence.

But life is GOOOOD! Life is so good it makes me want to live forever, just so I can fit in everything I want to do!

However, we're off topic - don't want @ecneitap giving us a rap over the knuckles!
