Hi Clive, yes, we certainly live in different societies. But as you are posting about muslim immigration on an Australian website, I don't think it was unreasonable to think you were talking about muslim migration to Oz.
How many muslims have migrated to the country you live in? Or have they had a large indigenous muslim population for a while? But the description that you give of the antagonism between the groups proves my point to a certain extent - our muslim friends (some of whom attend one of the local church groups) have possibly migrated to Oz to avoid the militantism (didn't think spellcheck would like that!) of their native country.
Why would I want to "level the playing field" with you? You're the one stating that there is no point in being nice to muslims because of this, that and the other. Why would I deliberately want to go to a place of conflict, just to .... I don't know what? You make it clear that the problems are just as much on the so-called christian side as the muslim side. Sounds more like tribal warfare than religious conflict, and I've had enough experience of that with the IRA, thank you very much. Catholics killing protestant bastards, and vice versa.
