here as were watching on TV live coverage the seige at the biggest shopping centre in Nairobi, non-muslums were on the edge of their seats hoping that the police and/or army would shoot dead the terrorists .... (ha! the police shot one of the army guys by mistake so I wasn't holding my breath it was going to be resolved quickly).
Muslums here are a drag on a society trying to modernise, to re-invent Africa away fron gross poverty, so bad an public education system u would not believe .... in places I have been to, Islamic schools often ONLY teach the koran off hand made wooden plaques and the kids 'parrot' the damn text. No discussion just absolute acceptance. You live in the safety of a wellfare state where the Oz govenment finances, and enforces the ciriculum of the Islamic schools. It would NEVER be the inverse in an Islamic country.
Muslims, good or otherwise exploit the generousity of countris like Oz ... they can't believe how dumb we are.
Being white in Africa and living here YOU know how they think about aid donors (state, NGO's and private, its money falling out of the sky! Tomorrow they will have hands outstretched waiting for more.
