Maybe he meant arithmetic mean , whic supooses that there is a even amount of numbers in the spread, and the arithmetic mean is the average of the two middle numbers.
If the CEO was getting $10 mill per annum, ther would have had to be a large number of low paid workers to get an average of 307,000 ( by my calculations to average 307,000 at an average of $50000 per drone . There would be 38 drones to one well paid CEO)
