How big auto hasn't figured out that there is going to be a resource crunch is beyond me. The EV revolution that was always going to be is here and gathering momentum fast.
But you need materials to build a car, and you need Li, Ni, Co and rare earth elements if you want to build the best BEVs.
Sure LFP-based batteries are cheaper, but they ain't better. Range is king!
Big auto better get it's A into G if it wants to lock in supply. Maybe buy, or buy into, a mine or two.
And the climate crises ain't improving either. It will get worse faster than we think, making the transition all the more urgent.
