It doesn't make any difference to your ranges as their are so many of them but I still feel the 1987 figure of 2387.5 is bogus.
I was trading then and I don't recall that figure. I believe 2364 on Oct 6 was the high.
Below are two charts. The first is XAO and I have an arrow on the day in question. The second is SPI and I have an arrow on the same day but I have changed the day to just a dash as I believe it was wrong. If that day really went up to 2387.5 it makes no sense compared to XAO.
It wasn't post contract change as in those days expiration was the last day of the month and that day is Sep 29. That explains why Oct 3 was way higher but not Sep 29.
So it is either rubbish data or somehow they put in the Dec price on the chart perhaps.
