setting stop losses

    How do you set your stop losses?

    Im with Commsec, so would I just buy a stock at say 30.00 and then put a sell order in for 28.50 or whatever i wanted the stop loss to be? Is this how you guys usually do it? With Commsec its good for about 20 days.

    How do you guys execute your stop losses?
