Australian free-to-air TV group Seven Network has overhauled its plans for the roll-out of the TiVo digital TV recorder. In a new deal with the US manufacturer, the device will now become available to subscribers prior to Seven's coverage of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. The purchase price is around $A500, but Seven is reducing the monthly subscription fee of between $A10 and $A12 to a lower amount not yet made public. Seven reportedly wants to sell half a million units by 2013, and will offer free software updates over the internet until 2011. The target market are those who do not have a one of the two pay TV services, as the latter offer their own recorders
