    Hi Theoc,

Apologies for the slow answer. But , as always a great question.

Some mTOR inhibitors cause a "reversible" stunting of production of T cells during in vivo experiments. The theory is that free radicals ( unstable molecules made during cell metabolism) can't be neutralised due to the drugs affect on causing a thymus to atrophy ( become slightly smaller)

Also some dont. I can't find a reference on Monepantel to support a view.

The thought , is that if the thymus output is reduced , it can be reversed by giving a Zinc supplement. Conversely, if one is getting older a Zinc supplement is helpful to over come a reduced size thymus.

Ref : Effects of Molecularly targeted therapies on murine Thymus: Highly selected mToR inhibitors induce reversible thymic involution" Al-Hammandi et al 2015.

Ref : Zinc treatment stimulates thymic regeneration after bone marrow transplant. Lovino et al , 2019.

    Hopefully the above helps.

    Kpax.
