Afterpay USA used to permit a nil upfront payment, so believe it or not customers could buy something and not even pay anything until a week later! A bit risky from a bad-debt point of view. I think Afterpay were the only BNPL who offered that.
Anyway seems Afterpay have cut it completely for US users, upsetting the ones that had it and many users online are saying that a nil upfront payment was the only reason they used Afterpay. This could be a good opportunity for other bnpl operators to capture some of their active customers.
I think out of all the customer features designed by BNPLs it seems Sezzle offers the most, except for the physical card. Does anyone reckon a physical card is even necessary and will they launch one this year? I think ZIP and Affirm offer them and Klarna has mentioned launching one too.
