The fact they bought the asset near the top. Even at the time the analysts suggested the price was ‘full’.
I really want to like this company (there’s so few proper copper exposures on the ASX) but after all this time I still can’t get comfortable for why the vendors were so keen to sell what everyone is saying is a world-class copper resource. Perhaps Trafigura, being the clever/smart/sneaky traders they are, saw the early indicators for what was coming.
