Fair enough, but to say 'we over promised and under-delivered' while being payed executive salaries and asking shareholders and soph investors for more coin just doesn't cut it with me. I expect the people that manage, guide and develop a company with my money to be professional and not oversell unrealistic timelines. Their naive and trainee attitude has cost me plenty in about to expire options as well. Nonetheless, as you say "To my mind the BLT timing frustrations are well and truly outweighed by the strength of the company's underlying prospects", is correct and the only reason I continue to hold.
