SOUTH EAST LOST HILLS GAS PROJECT
On 31 May 2006, Nuenco announced the work program going forward at South Lost Hills to commercialise the shallowgas discoveries made there. This was basically to:

• Acidize the Calitroleum 1 Sands in Jack Hamar 2-1 to remove the near wellbore damage created by the
drilling mud utilised to ensure safe well control whilst drilling the 2-.1 well.

• Acidize the Etchegoin Sands in Jack Hamar 2-13 to remove near well bore damage which keeps plugging
the perforations with mud.

• Possible Frac on Calitroleum Sands in Jack Hamar 2-1 depending on how it responds to acidizing (if the
acid fails to break down all the obstructing material, the operator may seek to by pass this damage by
fracture stimulation)

• Possible Frac on Calitroleum Sands in Jack Hamar 2-13 depending on how it responds to acidizing.

• Monitoring the performance of successful wells over an extended test period (as we did with 3-13)

• Evaluation of the Jack Hamar 1-13 and 1-12 gas wells based on the results of the testing above.

• Continued testing from the lower sands upwards as appropriate in gas wells. Unfortunately this did not proceed according to plan as the acidizing of the 2-1 well did not clear
