Clearly Kevin Rudd and Labor are a party of social democrats. That is a broad brush description of their politics IMO. All politicians ought to be economically conservative because they are dealing with the future of the nations people. Economically conservative means being prudent with the financial affairs of the nation and there is no conflict or hypocrisy when one says on the one hand they are a social democrat and on the other hand an economic conservative. Simple really.
