shale oil, the new big thing

Mining companies involved in Shale oil and Shale gas have had significant increased in the share prices in the US in the last few years. It looks like The Australian is catching up with this story. Oil and gas are likely to be the boom commodities this year compare with iron ore a few years ago, Uranium in 2007 etc. The underlying prices for oil are quite high at the moment and are making many stocks look undervalued.

In CTP's corner, it has a huge land acreage, cash funding from 2 separate companies for $300 mil plus exploration and an existing oil well that is about to have reserves estimated by the end of the month. A comparison for oilers can be made with the charts of BRU or LNC, both are oilers looking in Australia (with other projects specific to those companies).

CTP has had a good rise from the recent lows of 11.5 and looks like heading towards 20c by the end of the quarter.

    As always DYOR.

here is a link to The Australian making comments on BHP and shale to give an initial look for those new to this area.
