EDE reminds me of a few spec stocks that I hold. EDE is one of them. I hold them because it only needs one of them to "come up with the goods" and that one will carry the others and still be profitable.
This type of investing has paid off in the past. I get left with a few "dogs" but I never counted on being right all the time. I have had a few ten baggers in the last few years and still have hope that EDE could be another.
EDE has quite a few irons in the fire. I do not expect them all to succeed. Hopefully one of them goes gangbusters. It could be the carbon "thingies", it could be Hythane. In the long term it could be the shale gas. Maybe the Optiblend will carry the costs of developing one of the others. Maybe thermal energy will be big in a year or two.
So,like my portfolio, EDE could come up with the goods, carry some disappointments and still pay off big time. That is what spec stocks are all about. At least EDE has spread the risk over a few possibilities.
