Energy Metals Ltd (ASX code: EME) today announced significant uranium
intercepts from first-pass aircore drilling recently completed at the
wholly-owned Lake Mason project:
* LMAC052 - 3.90m at 362ppm eU3O8 from 1.29m;
* LMAC053 - 1.25m at 417ppm eU3O8 from 0.72m
2.45m at 187ppm eU3O8 from 2.27m;
* LMAC054 - 1.75m at 272ppm eU3O8 from 2.20m;
* LMAC055 - 0.70m at 266ppm eU3O8 from 2.87m;
* LMAC059 - 3.00m at 350ppm eU3O8 from 3.56m;
* LMAC065 - 1.05m at 240ppm eU3O8 from 4.10m; and
* LMAC066 - 2.50m at 247ppm eU3O8 from 4.51m.
The Lake Mason project is located in the eastern Murchison
region of Western Australia, 25km north of the town of Sandstone.
The project comprises one Exploration Licence (E57/590) covering
a predominantly alluvial area including massive nodular and sheet
carbonate known as valley calcrete.
BHP Billiton's Yeelirrie deposit, the world's largest calcrete
hosted uranium deposit (52,500 tonnes U3O8), is 80km to the northeast.
Seventy-one vertical aircore holes (total 710m) were drilled on
five traverses spaced 1km apart with holes drilled 100m apart on each
traverse.
The drilling was designed to confirm the presence of
mineralisation previously identified by McIntyre Mines/Canadian Superior
Mines and BP Minerals Australia in the 1970s.
All holes were cased with PVC and surveyed using a downhole
gamma logging probe to estimate uranium grades. The drilling confirmed
the presence of uranium mineralisation in calcrete with several holes on
every traverse recording anomalous intercepts
