I see it as a bet each way for Sumitomo. Just like me, I believe Sumi have invested hoping there is substance to the story (Although I did this over 10 years ago). They have the potential to make a fantastic return! For a company the size of Sumitomo they would see it the risk reward for the amount invested as positive so they too are taking a punt. Think about what they have invested as a percentage of their size...
I am not a commercial lawyer or a high flyer in finance, but when the announcement came out about the Sumi deal I remember it being a lukewarm response. I am cautious about adding to much weight to the Sumitomo agreement. The share price didn't think it was that exciting so I have taken then same view...
Again, I am not saying TVN is a dud. I am invested in there being a return... One day.
I am saying there is ALOT of hype around. The share price is stagnant. Management have skin in the game but are also getting a bloody good remuneration for where we are at (this is not a ASX 200 company). It is fair and reasonable for us to remain critical of management. It fact it is healthy. I think there are some super supportive holders who get prickly when there is a view different from their super confident belief. I hope GW has thicker skin then Trump and doesn't feel the need to respond to few questions being asked of management (Apparently trolling?) on X.
