Shandong Ruifu Lithium Co., Ltd (“Shandong Ruifu”) was established in November 2011 with a registered capital of 70 million RMB (A$14M) as a specialist in the production of lithium cathode. The Company is based out of Tai’an City in Shandong Province of China.

With a workforce of around 260 employees, its main businesses involve the production of battery grade lithium carbonate, industrial grade lithium carbonate, sodium sulphate, silica-aluminium powder and other related products.

Shandong Ruifu has already established a lithium-mica production line using spodumene to produce up to 6,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate, 15,600 tonnes of sodium sulphate and 48,000 tonnes of silica-aluminium powder.
Presently annual realised sales revenue is around 400 million RMB (A$80M), net profits of about 100RMB (A$20M).

With the rapid growth of new energy technology in the recent years, in 2015 the Shandong Ruifu increased its output to 8,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate per annum, thereby ensuring China’s future supply is well secure.

Within the next year years Shandong Ruifu plans to invest 500 million RMB (A$120M) to further increase its annual output of lithium carbonate to 10,000 tonnes. Estimated realised sales revenue is to be approximately 1 billion RMB (A$200M), with net profits of around 200 million RMB (A$40M).

Over the next five years Shandong Ruifu plans to further expand its downstream lithium metal operations, ideally its butyl lithium, lithium-aluminium alloys and other areas. The overall plan is to invest 1 billion RMB (A$40M), and not only increase its annual output of lithium carbonate to 10,000 tonnes but also 2,000 tonnes of other accompanying lithium metals such as the butyl lithium, lithium-aluminium alloys and other areas.

Once the five year investment plan is complete Shandong Ruifu is estimating its realised sales revenue to be approximately 2 billion RMB (A$400M), with net profits of around 300 million RMB (A$60M), also becoming a global lithium-salt producer.

Tai’an City
Tai’an city is a 3^rd tier China city, famous for its Taishan Mountain.
I personally visited the city and the mountain in 2013.

Be interesting to see if this company has a factory near the Qingdao port otherwise they will be trucking the ore more than 300km inland.
