I'm no legal expert but you can't just get out of a defamation action by saying "ok, you win", either their lawyers will come to a settlement or it will be left to the judge to decide on damages and costs in an uncontested case. I wonder how long till Brit follows suit, the pair of them deserve all that's coming

Reynolds holds off on going to court in exchange for a settlement (monetary, apology, or something else).

Probably complicated by the fact that there are two respondents to the Reynold’s court action, with seemingly very different bank balances.
