Surandy, from what I am aware of has it pretty right.

OZL will set some rules like

sp must be less than the 5 dma
no more than x million per month
comply with legislation (i.e cannot buy so many as to manipulate the price)
no more than $200m
finish within a year

These rules are given to an independent broker and they execute the trades until OZL say stop.

Also, be aware that on market buybacks have some no buying windows. These are from july 1 to 1/2 year announcement and Jan 1 to full year announcement.
