    Why waste perfectly good surplus capital on something that can work only in short term and is not going to resolve ongoing issues?

    It's not going to scare off the manipulators, nor hit shorters who would otherwise need to close their positions before dividend. IMHO it's better to keep the reasonable dividend, and have a dividend reinvestment plan that offers discount as additional incentive for the shareholders, so the company doesn't spend much cash on paying out.

    I don't like share buy backs in general, unless the company swims in cash and don't have extensive debt. Spare cash should be used to pay debts or to invest (but for MRM - no please, one Jaya is enough), not for vanity reasons.
