Demontrader, share buybacks never make a share price go up, despite what any company says. There are rules around buybacks, and the company has restrictions around VWAP and price to pay. There are also rules around not being allowed to buy back around announcements- not sure if that just related to price sensitive ANN's- I think it does.
Terrific company that just gets better and better- talk about a recovery story from a former battler. UML has risen some 50% over recent months- a wonderful incline. I have er on a watch list, but I reckon she'll recover when POG lifts. I missed the days of 10c-11c, because there was a lot of uncertainty around UML back then, but less so now. I am not a huge fan of buybacks. It is more likely UML will buy their own shares when the SP is at the low range, though, because that is how they work. Also, a company makes a *plan* to buy back shares, but there is not a legal *commitment* to do so.
