Hi JC,
I think a 5:1 consolidation would greatly benefit the co and the share price short term, see LYC.
It could provide a good trading opportunity for long term holders to reduce some losses. Buy some for trading purposes.
If it doesn't go your way, no big deal, you have ended up with more for long term which was your intentions anyway.
But I believe more times than not, the share price drifts back towards the price it was before the reverse split.
It could be a subliminal thing that selling something for .50 is better than selling at .10,
