You may have to contact your broker to adjust the share count after split. They will not necessarily do this automatically, but should take only a few minutes when requested.
Pros & Cons of R/S are case by case for each company, all depends which state the company is in during the split. For Lynas, if they ever wanted to issue a dividend in the future, seems logical to have shares well above $1. Dividends are a few years out obviously (maybe more than). They should have more visibility to international exchanges, funds, etc.. which I think would increase liquidity for the ADRs in the US. Difficult to trade LYSDY or LYSCF in their current state.
