ALMOST 50 per cent of Australian workers say they feel burnt out as the end of year approaches, but more women are feeling the pressure than men.

A survey of 722 people by recruitment agency Talent2 finds that 47 per cent of workers say they are exhausted as the festive season approaches.
But women are feeling burnt out in greater numbers than men, with 59 per cent of female workers compared with 41 per cent of males saying they are tired.

The survey also finds that 43 per cent of women feel flat and exhausted and say their work productivity is declining, while 32 per cent of men say they feel the same way.

Fewer older workers say they need a break compared to younger workers.

The survey finds 56 per cent of people in the 35-44 year age bracket say they are tired and need a holiday, compared to 47 per cent in the 25-34 age group.

This is compared to only 31 per cent of over 55s who say they need to take a break.
