Manage Invest is capable of running yield and performance analysis on the entire portfolio or any subset of assets (for comparison), as well as produce any financial reports (P/L, Balance Sheet etc) and many asset reports. Additionally, you can check your performance against a benchmark such as the All Ords index.
It also look like this is the first software to treat "tax deferred" components of distributions as they should be. Most other packages either treat it as regular income (which increases your tax liability) or disregard it altogether (which will get you in trouble with ATO). Manage Invest deducts "tax deferred" amounts from the cost base of the asset and then shows capital gains calculations and resulting tax liability. This enables you to run 'what if' scenarios before selling assets.
The software also revalues all of your listed assets for any given date, including the conversion of foreign currencies to AUD if needed.
There are many things you can do with excel, but this is far-far more advanced than that.
