Does anyone get the sense that some manipulation of the SP is happening today?

After nearly all 38.5 buyers are exhausted, the next step should logically see the top priced buyer at 38.0. Instead we see new buyers come in at 39.0.
I'm not complaining, in it for the long haul, but get the feeling that something is brewing and perhaps Smart Money have decided they have made all they are going to make from the rapid drop in SP over the last 2 weeks and its now time to push the SP even higher to more realistic levels.
