In perspective, $500k is probably associated with about 20,000 m3 of concrete.

Here in Australia, I am working on or am associated with transport infrastructure projects using about 4-5,000,000 m3 of concrete. And there is 3-4 x that in the pipeline that I am aware of for the coming decade.

In Sydney, that transport infrastructure is a lead enabler of private sector investment to house and create employment themed precincts associated with the “3 cities, 30 minute travel” vision for the existing 5 mill pop and the predicted 3 mill pop increase to 2056. My guess is that aggregated private sector concrete use is multiples of that going into transport infrastructure.

In all, that’s a lot of concrete in my ‘hood.

I’m frustrated.
