Regarding Dr Neil Frazer. Dr Frazer sadly left us mid last year for his personal family reasons. As you point out he is highly credentialed, however, you need a CEO who is 100% dedicated and as much as I begged Dr Frazer to stay he had to leave for his personal family reasons and could no longer stay in Australia. Sometimes in life family and personal reasons come first.
This left OncoSil Medical without a CEO for a period of long time in a critical zone of execution around meticulously detailed paperwork on both the first commercial approval of a CE Mark with the European regulators and with the IDE process with the US FDA regulators.
Strange... I heard differently ... but that is the problem with these companies. They spin it and here we are hearing OSL's boards explanation via an HC poster more than 6 months later.
Either way it is poor communication to the market if they lost such a valuable member and how they redeemed the situation and it actually doesnt make sense as to why they would base him as the lead in coordinating the medical trials - living in North Carolina (at least that is where I spoke to him late last year), and then have him leave.
Why would you ever make someone the medical focus of the trial in terms of liaison and then let them leave before the trial starts... If that was there decision - then that is a board failure let alone the poor communication of such a critical member of staff and planned departure.
Spin, Spin, Spin
I think with Biotechs we have to be much more critical of ASX Boards. We have seen so many failures of governance and communication. TIS is a recent example but if we all invest in biotechs we all have others.
We should all be thinking about attending the AGM and asking those critical questions.
Chris Behrenbruch aside (see below) there are enough of us with medical knowledge in the area to call them to task on some of these issues.
