wow, $500 million. tell em' they are dreaming. I dug a hole today mum.

TER bought their share in the RSA operation in the 2nd half of 2020 FY for around $100 million. Since TER have had ownership in the operations, sales have reduced (closed a mine). Profits did increase during 2023 FY, but that was because the coal price went crazy last financial year. the last couple of quarters the EBTIDA is below what it was before TER got involved.

I will state, I don't follow the RSA operations closely so i don't know what the value of coal they have in the ground is, but I can't fathom how they will sell it for anything close to $500 million (hell, yes difference between market cap and business value, but the market cap of all TER is only $330 million). This is my opinion, based on sales and profits have both fallen since TER had a stake, along with the closure of Kangala mine. I think they will be happy to get their investment back.
