Refusing to nuclear is not the problem - refusing to build new high efficiency coal fired plants is. sneaky.png Countries with much higher populations have built such new plants and will have a reliable source of clean and safe energy for decades.

Here on the other hand, we'll have more solar that doesn't generate when the sun goes down and wind turbines that don't turn when the wind is nigh or too strong and both systems will need replacing sooner than any new generation coal fired plants. Won't be long before becoming the laughing stock of the world (if not already) and already paying much more for energy than we should - how much more when replacements will be needed? rolleyes.png

Perhaps soon enough there will also be those wishing to charge their EV's but may encounter a message via an app - 'pls come back during office hours and only if it's sunny'. what.png

All they had to do is to invest taxpayer funds in a few HELE plants - but no, instead they opted for subsidized ruinable unreliables. Meanwhile coal producers are milked, despite coal allegedly being 'dirty' and bad for the environment and despite the fact that other large users of coal live on the same planet but have energy reliability as top consideration. At last that's the way it seems. AIMO
