    It is a good question, "Who would buy AMP?" A possible contender is a foreign player who wants to get into the AUS local market and expand. The big 4 banks are just that, too big, and becoming too expensive. AMP is the wounded deer lagging at the back which is still 'good meat.' Smaller regional banks (like Bendigo or Heritage Bank) are too much trouble and the red tape could prove burdensome during the integration process. AMP though, has some international exposure and experience, especially during the time it was in the British market prior to the GFC, so the merged entity could be better suited to the Euro market. Right now, AMP is like a small HSBC with a large sucking chest wound.
