demand for coal particularly in third world countries will persist for decades, sure,
but the buying of coal shares is a different matter.
a lot of institutions will no longer own or buy coal shares, including the Norwegian sovereign fund who earlier this year
announced SOL as on the list of stocks they will no longer touch.
without institutional support, stock prices languish as retail investors can't do the heavy lifting.
tobacco shares internationally also offer high dividends but very few people buy them.
SOL management have shown themselves to be very capable investors over many years.
surely they can now move onto better things than coal.
