    That is entirely up to the Board to decide.

    When faced with a Profit, after tax, companies can decide what to do with their surplus cash.
    They have several options- Pay down debt, Invest in the company by upgrading plant and equipment or purchasing additional plant and equipment, Buying out competition, Paying Dividends or spending it on alternative investments they deem to be in the companies thus shareholders best interests. .

    Often it is a combination of the above where some of the profit will be distributed to shareholders as dividends with the remainder reinvested to grow the company. The Board will determine what to do with the surplus cash depending on the circumstances and opportunities current at that time.

    After initially paying dividends there may well be future years when the Board decides to retain profits. It all depends on what the Board sees as the companies best interests.
