Our Longonjo licence area contains two distinct projects; the Longonjo Carbonatite (rare-earth, phosphate and niobium) and the Catabola (copper and gold).

In general terms, worldwide production of phosphates, niobium and rare-earth oxides tends to come from large, high grade Carbonatite deposits. Grades in such deposits generally contain a minimum of 5% rare earth oxides. On the basis of the data analysed, CityView’s consultants advise that the Longonjo Carbonatite appears to have the potential to host such a deposit.

CityView Update on Longonjo Sampling Programme

PERTH, Australia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CityView Corporation Ltd. (OTCBB:CTVWF) (ASX:CVI) (FWB:C4Z), is pleased to announce that its rock and soil samples have been shipped to the Lab for testing.

CityView Corporation Limited has been advised by its on-site representative in Angola that the 1,500 rock and soil samples taken from the recent sampling programme at the Catabola/Caqueti area and the Longonjo Carbonatite area in the Longonjo licence have been air freighted to OMAC Laboratories Ireland for analysis.

Results from the OMAC Laboratories analysis are expected to start flowing through in March.

Black Fire Minerals returns best rare earth rock chip sample from Longonjo ahead of drilling

Black Fire Minerals (ASX: BFE) has received further rock chip and geochemical samples from the Longonjo Rare Earths Prospect as the company prepares for an upcoming drill program.

Bedrock pit geochemical samples returned a peak result of 5.57% total rare earth oxides, including 1.17% neodymium oxide.

The rock chip program returned the best sample yet, with 7.12% total rare earth oxides. The results indicate the presence of extensive rare earth element mineralisation within the soil anomaly, which covers 3.5 kilometres by 1.7 kilometres.

A surface geochemical program in 2011 confirmed bedrock sources throughout the soil anomaly area, with a peak result of 18.96% total rare earth oxides in bedrock pit samples.

Black Fire is planning an aggressive exploration program at Longonjo in 2012, comprising will comprise aircore and reverse circulation drilling programs at the Longonjo prospect and geochemical screening over the entire project area for base metals and gold.

Chairman Anthony Baillieu said: “The board is very pleased with the latest results from the Longonjo REE Prospect which have continued to provide considerable encouragement regarding the potential significance of this prospect.

“The company continues to negotiate with potential drilling contractors and looks forward to being able to announce the commencement of drilling at this exciting target in due course.”

Longonjo project

Black Fire’s Longonjo Project covers 3,670 square kilometres in central Angola, about 600 kilometres southeast from the country’s capital city of Luanda.

It comprises the Longonjo Rare Earth prospect as well as prospectivity for gold and base metals. Rock chip assays have of up to 9% copper and 6 grams per tonne gold have been returned.

Importantly, the project is well located in regards to infrastructure, including road networks and a recently recommissioned railway linking the area to the Atlantic port of Benguela/Lobito which passes less than 3 kilometres from the Longonjo rare earth prospect.

Black Fire entered an Option to Purchase agreement to acquire a 70% interest in the Longonjo project with Sable Minerals in June 2011.

Presumably Black Fire changed its name or sold it on to Bright Star. ?????
Definitely some very early 1948-1968 work was done there by Barra, as it is referenced in numerous Papers, which are now subscription only !
