While I tend to agree, and certainly hope you are right LT re Xi's broader ambitions, clearly you have no understanding of the NdFeB industry, either technical development, supply chain & manufacturing economics, or mkt demands key segments.
It will take at least a decade of intense effort by ROW Govt's, industry and research institutes to build a supply chain vaguely competitive with the Chinese, and likely one mkt segment at a time, top down, to create competitive scale.
