Graphite is low priority - this was stated by Christiaan today at a seminar I attended, so maybe we will get an update but his focus is where we want it at the moment. He also stated there will not be a trading halt for the auction, and they will tally results of the auction monday night for release before tuesday open.
He also mentioned the ruby quality was very high. They will not be drip feeding inventory updates, there will be an announcement when the final tender quantity is locked in. There is great interest from the Chinese buyers who will not buy heat treated product, and Tiffaney who will only use ethically sourced Ruby's, and Mozambique is the only place in the world where these ethics are applied. Tiffaney havent sold Ruby's for the last 16 years because of the ethics issue.
He was very happy with the potential bidders he has locked in, he expects a lot of friction between them, especially given they are in the same room and can all see what each other are looking at on the tables. Reserves have been set, if a batch doesn't sell they will be blended into the next tender, they are not that desperate that they will sell below their valuation. He also mentioned the grading system they have developed and he sees there is IP here, unsure what commercial value or advantage this gives.
