Sorry I dont agree with your thoughts (though we are all entitled to our own!).
For one, there was less than $300,000 in shares traded all day - perhaps you meant volume?

Also I think there was a reaction to a plunge in overseas markets which affected HGO and most others. Do not forget that there are a "s***load" of HGO FPO's out there and many of them are issued under the current price and at "nearby" prices thanks to some less than desireable timing of capital raisings. Consequently there will be many ready to bailon days like today (and there will be plenty more).
I do not see this as manipulation.
I do, however, see at least one or more day traders very active in HGO over recent months and having a "field Day" so to speak. These guy/s DO achieve minor manipulation to suit their "ends" ie bids at start or end of day outside the "money".
No, overall, I agree with Shep 1966 (post after yours).
